Abstract
Performance of wireless communication system can be improved by increasing the antenna capability. Antenna radiation pattern can be adjusted to reach the direction of maximum signal arrival. In this paper, a preliminary research on adaptive antenna development which based on Digital Signal Processor is discussed. Microstrip antenna array is used since it is simple to design and fabricate. Phase shifters which are used to control the direction of main lobe are realized using different length of coaxial cable. Phase difference between adjacent antenna elements is calculated using Least Mean Square (LMS) Algorithm. Simulation has been performed to investigate the capability of LMS to calculate the phase difference and the measurement on phased microstrip array antenna show that phase shifter circuit can control the direction of the antenna main lobe.
