The occurrence of AV in teens and young adults is not only give subjective problems, but also psychiatry problems. One of psychiatry problem that rarely analyze is low self-esteem. The aim of this study is to prove whether there is a relation between AV and level of self esteem. Methods: This study was conducted in 2016 using a cross-sectional design. Samples of this study (n=120) were active students in School of Medicine, Indonesian Catholic University of Atma Jaya who enrolled at year 2013, 2014, and 2015. The severity of acne was determined by GAGS and the level of self esteem was determined by RSES. The data was collected primarily and analyzed using spearman correlation test with significance level of p<0,05. Result: The incidence of AV was 100% (120 respondent) with 105 respondent (87.5%) had mild severity. From 120 respondent, 102 respondent (85%) had normal self-esteem and 18 respondent (15%) had low self-esteem. There was a correlation between AV severity and level of self-esteem (p= 0,469).
