Abstract
BACKGROUND : Normal skin has a pH of 4.5-5.5. One of the factors affecting changes in the pH of the skin is the use of body cleansers to clean the body as one of requirement for skin hygiene. The pH of a cleanser might influence skin’s pH .
METHODOLOGY : This study research the ratio of pH on antiseptic body cleanser and non-antiseptic body cleanser in Jakarta.
RESULTS : Body cleanser which contains antiseptic has an average of pH 9.78 while the body cleanser that does not contain an antiseptic obtained a mean pH of 9.28.
CONCLUSION : The pH of the body cleanser which contains antiseptic has a pH higher than the pH of body cleanser that does not contain antiseptic.
