Survey from Faculty of MedicineAndalas University showed the decrease in maternal mortality rate in each district or city in West Sumatera are not equal and still very far from the target of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)2015. Maternal and child health (MCH) book is provided for pregnant women as a means of learning to promote healthy behaviors, educate looking for continuous care and improve communication between pregnant women with health professionals. Therefore MCH book can be useful to increase mother awareness on danger signs in pregnancy. Objective :To know the MCH book utilization and pregnant mothers knowledge about danger signs of pregnancy in Muara Siberut village. Method : This research used descriptive-analytic studies with cross sectional approach. This research conducted in Muara Siberut Village on November 22nd- 27th 2015. The respondents were women who have or are pregnant with the aged between 15-49 years old. Data retrieval through interviews with the questionnaire and the data analysis using Mann-Whitney test. Result: The total respondents 67, where 62 respondents ( 92,5 % ) have a MCH book and 31 respondents ( 46,3 % ) have a good knowledge on danger signs in pregnancy. Mann-Whitney test shows there is no relationship between utilization of MCH book with knowledge of danger signs in pregnancy (p> 0.05). Mann Whitney test also shows relationship between education with knowledge of danger signs in pregnancy (p = 0.009). Conclusion:There is no relationship between utilization of MCH book with knowledge of pregnancy danger signs, however there is a relationship between maternal education with knowledge of pregnancy danger signs.
