Isi artikelThe past decade has seen the field of marital and family therapy criticized for its treatment of gender, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. The critiques, although emanating from different quarters, have open focused on similar problems in the delivery of marital and family therapy. In this article, the similarities in the critiques of the treatment of women, minorities, and homosexuals by marital and family therapists is reviewed. In addition, the impact these critiques have had on the field will be examined. Finally, attention is given to areas in which work is still needed.
