Abstract
The design of progressive die is designed based on the product that will be produced, the product is door edge filler. It has 55 mm length, 25 mm width and 2 mm thickness. Solidworks software is used for numerical stress analysis with finite element method for load condition. Progressive die for door edge filler is made on solidworks, based on the real dimension of the foor edge filler. Simulation were performed by using compressive force from the cutting process, 45439.856 N. The results of the finite element method simulations in SolidWoks is von mises stress and deformation. The design of the lay out produced a profile with 63.64% usage effectiveness, and successfully made a progressive die which meets strength and stiffness. The stress that occurs in progressive die doesn’t exceed the allowable stress of the material, so it can safely be concluded against the load in progressive die.
