Abstract
Robot is a product from the robotics field that is useful to assist human to perform many activities. One kind of the advanced robots is self-balancing robot. This kind of robot has ability to maintain balance so that it does not fall down whenever disturbances applied to them. The robot consists of two wheels to support the body. The robot is able to keep its balance with the help from gyro sensor that can determine its orientation. When the robot is going to fall, the gyro sensor will send a signal to the controller (in the form of a program) so that the controller can take reactive action (by sending command to wheels) to keep the robot’s balance. With the addition of an ultrasonic sensor, it can detect an obstacle so the robot can avoid it. This final project report presents the works of a development of self-balancing robot. The self-balancing robot is able to keep its balance and avoid obstacles.
