Poverty is considered as one of the reasons of crime commission. On the other side, illegal drug use also plays a significant role in crime commission. Poverty is not absolutely associated with drug use, however. Both will end up in the same pot, that is the prison. Prison condition and the effectiveness of the fight against drug use are influential to the success of prison. Thos paper investigates how certain intervention (including drug interventions) in prison setting can contribute to poverty alleviation.
