Abstract
Ponggang Village, Subang-West Java, is one of the villages where villagers work as farmer. In processing rice plant, farmers do not clean unhulled-rice due to lack of “unhulled-rice cleaning machine”. Farmers at Ponggang Village could produce unhulled-rice approximately 5-6 tons of unhulled-rice per harvest season. For grinding process of unhulled-rice farmers would rent equipment for Rp 500,00/kg of unhulled-rice. If 1 kg of unhuled-rice contains 11.83% or dirt, 5 tons of unhulled-rice would contain 591.5 kg of dirt, and farmers of Ponggang Village would incur losses of Rp 295.750,00. Due to the fact, designing winnower paddy machine concept which would be useful to maximize production at Ponggang Village. Concept Designing was based on farmers’ desire on the functions needed. Thus 3 alternative concepts were established based on morphological chart. Concept was selected bu using PUGH method and Decision Matrix. Resulting in concept no 2 as the best concept chosen. The principle of concept no 2 is using wind force for separating process where the wind produces by fan moved by gasoline engine.
