An experimental investigation has been made of a free jet air flow passed from orifice with and without a wall. This experiment consisted of a free jet with obstacle. Cylinder tube also be used in this experiment to compare the radial distributions of velocity and turbulence. Analysis of this experiment showed that the radial distribution of velocity components for free jets should vary asymtotically as (x-xo) -1. and (x-xo) -2, respectively. Whereas the influence of round obstacle which is placed near the orifice showed that the farther the distance from orifice the lower the influence of round obstacle and disappeared after a certain distance from the orifice. For nondimensional radial distribution of velocity ratio, to be found by dividing the value of velocity components with the mean original velocity, then expressed the similarity of velocity distribution graphs. All measurement used simple probe hot wire anemometer with assumed constant temperature. |
