Abstract
The research discussed about waste identification and improvement of work method in PT. Kawasaki. PT. Kawasaki is company which focused on automotive sector, which is motorcycle. PT. Kawasaki has 2 factories, the first one is at Pulo Gadung and the second one is at Kawasan Industri Cibitung. The research focused on machining process of Head 04 which produce Head Clyinder for KLX 150cc motorcycle that being done at the number one of factory (Pulo Gadung). Based on the observation had been done, there were waste on production line of Head 04. The identification of waste in Head 04 being done because production in Head 04 often happened line stop that delay the plan production. Identified and evaluated waste, being done to get refinement proposal which minimized line stop even improve productivity that happened in production line Head 04. Based on processing data, there was prior waste in production line Head 04 which is motion waste. Motion waste that happened in production line was caused by useless movement which added production time and the operator did not work hard to follow the agreement of operational standard by the company. Correction plan of work method was used to correct work of method in line production Head 04 by changing direction of work operation from unidirectional (one way direct operation) to bidirectional (more than one way direct operation). New work plan method can fix and improve capacity of production in production line Head 04 by changing move direction from unidirectional become bidirectional. Refinement of the work method significantly increase the result of production (output). There was 6,53% improvement of result production in time before allowance and 4,52% improvement of result production in time after allowance.
