In doing the delivery of a product, one of the main component which have an important role is the distribution system. An effective and efficient distribution process can provide an important value to reduce cost of a product. The higher level of competition in industry demanding the company to make the proper distribution strategies. One of the strategy which the industry can use is planning and determination route, so that the product can be received by the customers on the right amount, good condition, in accordance with the time promised. PT. Satu Visi Selaras is a manufacturing company which product resulted is water with brand named “OSO”. In doing the distribution process, the company did not consider the distance and the capacity of the truck. It did not have the right distribution schedule and have standard distribution route, which made the customers have to wait the product in a long time because the truck is distributing the product to another customers. For that reason, this research has made to provide an optimal distribution route and consider the capacity of the truck and the distance so the distribution process can be done well and in time. The right determination route will increase the efficient of a the company. The right determination route done by comparing two methods, Saving Matrix and Travelling Salesman Problem, helped by LINGO 13.0 software. From the result of transportation cost, showed that the determination route which arranged by saving matrix method resulted less cost compared to the travelling salesman problem method. So that, saving matrix be the recommendation to the company to use the distribution route to decrease transportation cost. This recommendation method simulated by using ProModel 7.0 software. |
