Tricks of the trade let designers optimize servo-driven machines for speed, accuracy, or a quick response. Today’s servo-controlled machines are faster, smaller, and smarter than ever. Even so, machine users demand more and more performance, and this forces designers to keep making improvements. But it can be a challenge to make a machine’s servosystem perform better because so many factors come into play: servomotors, the feedback sensor, the servodrives, and the mechanical transmission, to name a few.
