The executive network (TEN) recently held a panel discussion on labour law and policy, bringing together four speakers from unions, government, business, and multilateral organizations. The speakers discussed this topic with the following prompts in mind: whether Indonesian labour laws are competitive; wheter the government should revise labour laws to be more competitive with China; whether unions take into account increased employment alongside demands for higher wages; and what the government should do to raise workers' standard of living.
