Indonesia needs around US$ 123 billion for infrastructure projects in 2009-2014, with $106 billion of of that total coming from private investment. But foreign investment reached only roughly $14 billion last year. The hurdles for investment remain very high, and the problems perhaps too great to tackle even from President Yudhoyono's new and much-touted"situation room."
