Party Democrat's Pro-poor, pro-job, pro-growth' is a good slogan. So good that even Golkar Chairman Aburizal bakrie is looking to jump on the pro-poor bandwagon. In the latest episode, Golkar lawmakers in the House of Representatives are pushing for a US$ 1.6 million " development fund" for each representative to distribute in their distric. Golkar is leading the charge, but it is not the only backer of the program; Democrat lawmaker Benny K Harman, chairman of Commission III overseeing legal affairs, told the Jakarta Globe that all lawmakers were obliged to give back to the people who voted for them.
