Barack Obama visited Ohio nine times this year, becoming a regular in Youngstown, Columbus and Cleveland. “I implore you,” he begged voters on behalf of the governor last month. In 2006 Mr Strickland was elected with a 24-point margin. On November 2nd he was forced to concede, having lost by three points.
