Abstract
Background.Lion dance performance knowed since Tang Dynasty (618-906 A.D.) in China and the origin of lion dance performance still unknown. The purpose of lion dance performance at that time was to welcome Persian guest in the Main Land and also played annually when they purified the King’s palace. Lion dance for the first time came to Indonesia through Chinese merchant in Semarang. Lion dance officialy became Indonesia’s national sport category since Indonesia National Sport Committee (KONI Pusat), represent government, approved Indonesia Lion Dance Sport Federation (FOBI) as member of KONI Pusat. Until now, lion dance training still based on empirical knowledge rather than sport science. Sport science in lion dance sport need to be improves because it has high risk of injuries.
Purpose. The aim of the research is to determine the relation between lion dance sport with anatomical of vertebral of the athletes.
Methods.Research is held in cross-sectional method from rontgen imaging of thoracolumbar vertebral at hospitals in Jabodetabek area and using questioner and analitic analyze to find the relationship between both of them.
Result. There is no meaningful relationship between There isn’t statistical different betweenage, duration as athlete, frequency of practice, body height, body weight, BMI, and posisition of athlete with the normality of thoracolumbar vertebral’s rontgent imaging.
Conclusion There isn’t statistical different between front and back athlete of lion dance with the normality of thoracolumbar vertebral’s rontgent imaging.
Suggestion.In the future, the research about lion dance sport needs to use national athlete population and standardized technique in taking the rontgent imaging.
