Grip strength is an indicator which state the overall strength of a certain person. Besides, arised statement that the higher the body size then the higher the overall strength. Body dimension which related toward grip strength is hand anthropometry. Besides, student daily activities also allegedly related toward grip strength. Subject of this study are sedentary college students aged 18-21 years old. Therefore, this study wants to know the correlation of hand anthropometry and student daily activities toward grip strength in sedentary college students.The main purpose of this study is to predict the grip strength in sedentary college students. Based on data processing, will be formed two linier regression models are linier regression model in hand anthropometry to grip strength and linier regression models in student daily activities (ratio) to grip strength. Besides, will be made crosstab analysis of student daily activities (nominal) toward grip strength. Based on crosstab analysis, there are no correlation of student daily activities (nominal) toward grip strength among college students. Then the regression models will be validated by comparing the grip strength from regression models and experiment and inter-regression models will be validated by comparing the grip strength that obtained from the regression models. After that, the results of validation in regression models and validation in inter-regression models are sig. > 0.05, which mean the all regression models can be used to estimates the grip strength. Based on the results, can be concluded there are positive correlation of hand anthropometry and daily activities toward grip strength in college students aged 18-21 years old.Next, researcher will apply the linier regression model to predicts the college students grip strength based hand anthropometry and students daily activities through the establishment of an application. This application will give the proposed improvements including activities that need to be done by college students if the grip strength prediction is weak. |
