Isi artikel
This article tries to elaborate how literature can be used in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms by putting it into practice. The lesson plan and materials developed present how a simple piece of literary work such as a narrative text can be useful for learners at Junior High School Level to learn and improve their linguistic competence and cultural competence that will eventually lead them to good communicative performance. This goal can be achieved by using Personal Growth Model as the approach. This model will also help instill character building through the relation of literature and learners’ personal life and the moral values implied in literature.
