Literatures suggested adolescents with smoking habit were more likely to suffer from emotional and behavioral disorder. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the association between smoking habit and emotional behavioral disorder among SMPN 273 Kampung Bali students. Methods: A cross-sectional analytical study was used for this study. The participants were 150 students from 7th to 9th grade. The Riskesdas 2010 questionnaire was used to assess the smoking habit of the students and SDQ (Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire) was used to assess the emotional behavioral disorder of the students. Results: This study revealed significant association between smoking habit and emotional and behavioral disorder on students with a weak relationship (p = 0.000, r Somers’d = 0.391). The prevalence of emotional and behavioral disorder among students with smoking habit were 35% (7 out of 20 student smokers), the prevalence of emotional and behavioral disorder among students without smoking habit were 10% (13 out of 130 non-smoking students). Conclusion: There is association between smoking habit and emotional behavioral disorder. Early intervention is required in order to prevent smoking habit among adolescent.
