The aim of the researc was to know the description of the behavior of general practitioners in providing analgesic therapy in elderly with chronic non-malignant musculoskeletal pain and its relationship with the practice duration in North Jakarta Primary Health Center in 2015. Method. This research is descriptive analytic cross-sectional design. Data was collected by distributing 61 questionnaires to general practitioners in the health center in North Jakarta. General practitioner’s behavior was assessed by the frequency scale in the form of eight questions. The relationship between practice duration and the behavior of general practitioners were tested using chi square analysis test with a confidence interval of 95% Result. Most of general practitioners replied: always in assessing the location, intensity and duration of pain; always ask the history of comorbidities; sometimes use the WHO analgesic ladder and the Beers criteria; often give NSAIDs and Asetaminofen; never give opiod therapy; sometimes giving PPI when using NSAID COX 1 Inhibitors and sometimes give NSAIDs in patients who have a history of comorbidities. The practice duration and the general practitioner's behavior towards the provision of analgesia in the elderly also showed no relationship. Suggestion. To develop this research in a wider scope. The government needs training and supporting for general practitioners.
