Interest in the use of progress examination has grown in the current culture of accountability in higher education. The initiation of national competence examination this year calls for comprehensive, knowledge-based examinations as part of a faculty of medicine's evaluation and assessment of students learning. Progress test may serve as a continuous assessment to give important feedback for students and institutions. The experience of implementing progress test in a medical faculty is presented in this paper. The paper is focused on presenting the cumulative nature of the 'result which may also reflect the increase comprehensiveness of the curriculum.
