Parents had important role in the child’s development because children generally communicate more frequently with their parents regarding various issues, among which, is reproductive health. Reproductive health education in children is influenced by the communication between children and parents. The quality of communication between children and parents is depends on parent’s ability as a competent communicator regarding reproductive health issues. The level of reproductive health among parents might be vary. Method. This study uses cross sectional method with descriptive and analytic approach that compares the attitude towards reproductive health between parents of fifth grade students in Strada Santa Maria Tangerang primary school and the family. Result. As many as 44 parents have inadequate knowledge, 73 parents have adequate knowledge, and 67 parents have good knowledge. As much as 74 parents have taught their children about reproductive health, while 110 have not and no parents in this study decide not to educate their children about it. Non-parametric Wilcoxon analysis was conducted, with p value=0.00. This means that the initial hypothesis is denied. The result shows that there is a significant relation between the knowledge and attitude of parents in reproductive health education in the family. Suggestion. Further research can evaluate the view of parents about reproductive health education and the issues needed to be discussed and parents could increase their knowledge on the matter to furthermore develop the educative process.
