Isi artikelBackground: To ensure the quality of PBL implementation in FM GMU, we need to do quality assurance process. One of the methods is to monitor the effectiveness of PBL tutorial as the main activity in PBL. Assessment of the congruency between Faculty Learning Objective and student learning objective is a tool to assess tutorial effectiveness. Objective: The aims of this study are to explore the percentage of FLO discussed and generated as SLO; to find out the congruency between FLO and SLO; and to find out the depth and breadth of PBL discussion during tutorial. Method: Cross sectional study with tutor as respondents who completed the table of FLO achievement, The research itself was conducted in three scenarios during June, 26-30 2006. Result and discussion: Data were analysed using Ms. Excel 2003. Almost 100% of FLO are discussed and generated as SLO, however one group had generated 86.67%. There are extended LO discussed but not all of the groups did it. The majority of breadth of the tutorial discussion is relevant to the topic (the percentage for block VI, XII and XVIII respectively: 75%, 55%, and 67.71%) and the majority of the depth of tutorial is deep with percentage of block VI, XII and XVIII respectively: 76.92%; 61.02% and 55.93%). Conclusion and recommendation: Students have generated almost all of the FLO and SLO is broader than FLO and there are also some extended LO. The finding of congruency model between FLO and SLO in PBL curricula in FM GMU is model A, B and C. Overall breadth level of discussion is in relevant level and the depth level of tutorial discussion is deep. Further study should be conducted to explore the causes.
