Isi artikel
The Faculty of Medicine Atma Jaya Catholic University has implemented PBL as one of the teaching strategies since 2001. It was intended as a pilot project to convince the faculty and the students of the new approach on learning medicine. Analysis of the literatures indicates that the recent rapid rise of PBL has closely paralleled the timing of the experiences explosion. The pilot PBL could be treated as treatment which would give experiences for all. Experiences, students and the faculty got from PBL, could hamper the rest of the study if not well planned. Cost-effectiveness study on PBL thus will validate adequacy of the experiences. The pilot have been evaluated every year since its first implementation. The evaluation was collected from the students as well as the tutors. Each year, there have been some improvements toward the method, scenarios, and the assessment. The paper presents a collaborative finding from the evaluation sheets. It tries to reveal how PBL might be a cost-effective learning strategies for medical students. Both students' and the faculty's evaluation on PBL tried to articulate what experiences they actually had during PBL. The faculty may maintain this activity as continuous and interactive life long learning.
