Isi artikel
Porto folio assessment in medical education is a relatively new concept. The portofolio is student-centered and used to foster student self-evaluation. It provides greater depth and breadth of student work for assessment. Teachers may use it as a curriculum, assessment and professional development tool. It is an effective tool for students and educators to identify, clarify and achieve goals that were not previously assessable. Thoughtfully implemented porto folios can provide the bridge for students to become successful life-long learners. Students not only choose the material that they wish to include in their porto folio but also reflect on their work to identify what has been learned and what is yet to be learned. There is no doubt that reflection has been considered as the key component of many portofolio models. According to Miller's pyramid, porto folio can be used to assess actual performance. It is a responsibility of the institution to develop a portofolio assessment. To design porto folio assessment, several things should be considered. Those are categorized into input, process and output components.
