Background. In Indonesia, diarrhea is the leading cause of infant mortality of 42% compared to 24% pneumonia,morbidity survey conducted by Subdit Diarrhea, the Ministry of Health from 2000 till 2010, the tendency of the incidence is increasing. So the researcher interested to get information through research on clinical profile of patient with acute diarrhea. Goal. To know the clinical profile of patient under five years old with acute diarrhea whom get hospitalization in Depati Hamzah Regional Public Hospital. Method. Research is held in retrospective using medical records of the patient whom got hospitalization in Depati Hamzah Regional Public Hospital during October 2014 – September 2015 by descriptive technique. Result. The number of patient 1 month - <2 years old were 80,8%, 2 years - = 5 years were 19,4%. Male 53,4% and female 46,6%. Nutritional status, overweight 2,7%, normal 43,8%, underweight 53,4%. Degree of dehydration, without dehydration 1,4%, mild to moderate 57,5%, moderate 25,6%, and severe 4,4%. Hospitalization, < 5 days 94,5%, and > 5days 5,5%. Feces with mucus were 72,6% and without mucus were 27,4%, feces with blood were 5,5% and without blood were 94,5%. Laboratory examination shows that leukocyte levels is higher than normal. Breastfeeding history, exclusive 24,7%, non exclusive 75,3%. Therapies that have been given were micronutrien (zinc 57,5%), antipiretic (paracetamol syrup 64,4% and pamol suppository 10,9%), antiemetic (ondancetron 41,1%), antibiotic (ceftriaxone 28,8% and ampicillin 6,8%), H2 blocker (ranitidine 50,7%) , and electrolyte fluid replacement (IVFD Ringer Laktat 36,9%; IVFD Kaen 3B 57,5%; and ORS 45,2%). Conclusion. Most age group were the age of 1 month - <2 years old (80,8%),under five male patients (53,4%) were higher than female (46,6%), and most of the nutritional status were underweight (53,4%). The highest length of hospital patients were = 5 days (94,5%). Therapies that have been given were micronutrient, antipyretic, antiemetic, antibiotic, H2 blocker, and electrolyte fluid replacement. Suggestion. Prospective technique will minimize the bias and improve data quality. |
