Isi artikelBackground: congenital megacolon (Hirschsprung's disease) is motility disturbance of the colon due to the absence of intrinsic ganglionic cells. The term congenital megacolon in adult explained that the first detection of the disease is more than 10 years of age. Many methods of definitive operations for congenital megacolon such as abdominoperineal pullthrough, retrorectal pullthrough, endorectal pullthrough, low anterior resections, myectomy and some modifica¬tions. Method: to report the successful of two cases of female, 20 and 17 years of age with congeni¬tal megacolon postsigmoidostomy were referred from district hospital to Dr. Sardjito General Hospital for definitive operation. The first case had performed low anterior resection, and the second had performed intrarectalstoma, a modification of endorectal pullthrough. Result: the first patient had been treated for 14 days and 8 days for the second patient. Both of them could defecate normally and did not find any complications. Conclusion: if congenital megacolon in adult was treated appropriately, the result would be satisfactory.
