Sleep is often associated with cognitive function in previous studies, but the relationship between sleep duration and verbal fluency rarely noticed, especially in the elderly population , especially in Indonesia with the rapid development of the elderly population . Objectives. Knowing the relationship between sleep duration with verbal fluency in the elderly in northern Jakarta Methodology. Analytic study with cross sectional approach . The study was conducted on the residents of RW 08 Penjaringan subdistrict , North Jakarta with a total sample of 151 people . Data collected by using questionnaires and interviews and analyzed using statistical program . The data analysis includes the analysis of univariate , bivariate and multivariate by using Pearson Chi - Square test at the 95% confidence level ( a = 0.05 ) Results and Conclusion. Results of analysis with Pearson Chi - Square Test showed a significant correlation with the value of p = 0.0001 ( p < 0.05 ) . This suggests that sleep duration has an influence on verbal fluency in older adults with an increased risk of 5.854 ( OR 5.854 ) times in elderly with impaired sleep duration for impaired verbal fluency Suggestion.
