In the early phase of this disease, disturbance in olfactory and cognitive functions occurs. Olfactory function does not depend only on the olfactory organs but also on the cognitive function in order to process the aroma. The olfactory tract ends in the temporal lobe that serves as the area responsible for the naming function and language function. This study aims to know the relationship between olfactory function and naming function along with language function on the elderly. Method: Analytical method with cross-sectional study. The number of respondents is 143 aged 60 years and above. Research was conducted in Kelurahan Penjarigan RW 8, Jakarta Utara. Result: 74.8% of the elderly experience olfactory dysfunction, 43.4% experience language dysfunction. This study shows that there is a relationship between olfactory dysfunction and naming function with P value of 0.029 along with language dysfunction with P value of 0.023. Conclusion: There is a relationship between olfactory dysfunction and naming dysfunction along with language dysfunction on the elderly.
