Background : The behavioral and emotional problems in adolescent are important health issue. The impact of behavioral and emotional problem in adolescent are complex for themselves, their family, school and environment. Purpose : To know the overview of behavioral and emotional problems on the students of Junior High School Tarakanita 2, North Jakarta. Methods : This cross sectional research was done on 281 students of junior high school in Tarakanita 2, North Jakarta. Measuring instrument used is the demographic questionnaire and Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (selfreported version). Analysis of this data is univariate. Results : There were 87 (30.9%) of Tarakanita 2 Junior High School, from 281 students who experience behavioral and emotional problems,including (32.3%) conduct problem, (28.4%) peer problem, (21.7%) emotional problem, (20.9%) prosocial problem, and (16.7%) hyperactivity problem. Boys are more often found with conduct problem (20%) and girls with emotional problem (13.5%). The respondent for this research are often found (15.6%) boys, (13.5%) of the firstborn, and (27%) living with both parents. Conclusion : On the students of Tarakanita 2 Junior High School, 30.9% were found to have behavioral and emotional problem. Behavioral and emotional problems more in boys and most problem in boy is conduct problem. In girl the most problem is emotional problems. |
