Isi artikelBackground: Meningioma is a benign tumor which origin from meningiotelial cell, it is a cell that covers the neuron of arachnoids layer. Meningioma incidence is 15% from the intracranial primer tumor and less than 1 % occurs in the orbital cavity. Case: To report of a female patient, 61 years old with chief complaint blindness of the right eye and become blow out. Patient also had complaint having headache since 18 years ago. Head CT scan found mass on the right os sphenoid that extends to the surrounding soft tissue. This case was treated by craniotomy with front temporal incision (pterional), horseshoe craniotomy, superior and lateral orbitotomy. The tumor was removed totally. The therapy continued with external beam radiation (25 times). Discussion: Histopathology examination shows a 3rd grade meningioma tumor. Post surgery, patient discarded from hospital with good condition and satisfied cosmetic result. Eight months post surgery, general condition was good, without headache, blindness, and the right eye was not blowout again. It can be concluded that combination of craniotomy with front temporal incision (pterional), horseshoe craniotomy, superior and lateral orbitotomy, effective to remove a retro bulbar meningioma.
