Background: A lifestyle that formed in the young adult age have an influence on health in the future, namely the increasing chronic disease risk factors such as hyperlipidemia and diabetes. Unhealthy lifestyle characterized by poor diet and lack of physical activity. University students, such as medical students tend to practice poor lifestyle because of academic and environmental stressors. The aim of this study is to determine the prevalence of healthy and unhealthy to the students of the Unika Atma Jaya Faculty of Medicine. Method: This research used descriptive cross sectional method. Result: The majority of students had a moderate level of physical activity with a value of 48% in men and 51% in women. The assessment of nutrition based on Recommended Dietary Allowance, found the men had lack of fiber (30.8%), calcium (39.1%), water (51%), and folic acid (59.2%). Nutrient intake in women found a lack of fiber (30.0%), folic acid (37.0%), iron (43.5%) and calcium (48.8%). The average Body Mass Index of men is 24.6 or overweight, whereas in female students is 21.0 or normal. Conclusion: Students of Unika Atma Jaya Faculty of Medicine is undergoing a healthy lifestyle when measured by normal level of physical activity (52%) and normal level of Body Mass Index (50%), but considered unhealthy based on the food pattern and the lack of fiber, calcium, water and folic acid daily intake. |
