This research also found 38% of respondents with mild anxiety, 40% with moderate anxiety, and 32% with severe anxiey. The bivariate analysis showed a significant correlation between depression and adherence to medication in individuals with type 2 DM (P < 0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that individuals with type 2 DM with depression have 5,474 times higher risk of nonadherence to medication compared to those without depression. Conclusion : Depression plays a major role in nonadherence to medication in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
