Isi artikelBackground: Marjolin's ulcer (MU) is a long-term malignant transformation upon burn scar. This case is very rare. Two MU cases are found based on medical record in Dr. Sardjito Hospital Dermato-venereology clinic in the last five years. Objective: The objective of this case study is that to discuss a Marjolin's ulcer case which focus on differential diagnosis of UM. Case: A40 years of old woman with burn scar almost all over her left leg which occurred since 31 years ago. One year before admission to the hospital, a spontaneous ulcer is found at the distal part of her left lower leg which is slowly expanded to dorsal part of the foot. A necrotic solitary ulcer, size 15 x 10 x 0,2 (medial); 10 x 10 x 0,2 cm (lateral) with irregular heaped up border, destruction of the fifth finger of the left foot, and unpleasant odor. There is no regional lymph nodes enlargement. Biopsy result reports squamous cell carcinoma. Discussion: This case fulfills the Ewing's postulates to establish the diagnosis of MU. Main therapy for MU is wide excision using STSG. Regional lymph nodes dissection should be perform to avoid the metastasis in case of lymph nodes involvement.
