Isi artikelA carrying pole enables people to divide goods into two parts where each part is suspended at each end of the carrying pole. The aim of this study was to find out the most efficient length of two lathes of flexible bamboo of carrying pole that can cause the lowest working heart rate. This study involved four carrying poles of different lengths. The lengths of the four carrying poles studied were 105 cm, 115 cm, 125 cm, and 135 cm respectively. This study was carried out in a rural area involving 32 male farmers as samples by applying the control by subject design. The samples were divided into eight groups, each consisting of four people. The carrying poles were used by cross-over manner. Prior to changing to other different lengths of the carrying poles, wash-out was done on the samples until their resting heart rate returned to normal. In reference to the working heart rate and work pulse, the work of carrying a load of 40 kg (ILO standard) on the shoulder using each of the four carrying poles is categorized as moderate to high workload. Based on statistical analysis and the farmers' subjective impression, it can be concluded that the carrying poles of 125 cm in length is the most efficient length as viewed from working heart rate.
