Background: Allergen-specific immunotherapy (SIT) is a therapy for allergic disease with a common natural allergen. BCG vaccination have been shown remedical clinical symptom and reduces drugs usage at asthma patient. This research was conducted to prove that BCG vaccination is more effective compared to SIT for remedical_clinical symptom and life quality of allergic rhinitis patients. Design and Method: The study was designed as a Control Group Pre test - Post test conducted between April 2004 and September 2005 in Ear and Nose Therapy (ENT) clinic at Dr. Kariadi Hospital, Semarang. All patients with medium degree allergic rhinitis attending ollergic clinic, part of ENT department at Dr. Kariadi Hospital Semarang, were included in the study. Data was analyzed by Mann Whitney U test, Mc Nemar test, and Chi Square test (p<0.05). Result: The BCG and SIT group on clinical sympthom for every week showed no significant differences (p>0.05). There was no significant difference between the BCG vaccination and SIT group on life quality (p>0.05). Conclusion: The BCG vaccination and SIT were shown the same effect in improving and medicating clinical symptoms and life quality
