Isi artikelBackground: Nose is the main gate for pollutant (particle) from the air. Timber dust produced by furniture manufacture is one of the inert pollutants. Long term exposure to it may lead to irritation and inflammation, methaplacia and dysphasia. This study was conducted to find out the correlation between timber dust exposures to morphological feature of nose. Design and Method: In this cross sectional study, the subjects were divided into two groups: controlled and treated groups. The nose mucociliar transport time (TMSH) measured with the difference time when the subjects taste a sweet sensation in his tongue after putting saccharin powder to conca inferior. Result: Temperature and humidity in the work place between groups was not different significantly, with p=0.071 and p=0.332 respectively. There was significant difference in TMSH between the two groups (p=0,000). There was significant correlation (Spearman's rho=0.774; p=0.000) between TMSH and working period. Conclusion: There was significant difference in TMSH between furniture workers group and non workers group. The level of TMSH is correlated with period of working
