White rice steam borer pest (Scirpophaga innotata) is one of major pest on paddy in tidalswamp land. Until now, insecticide as a dominant component to control the pest in integrated pest management (IPM). Once of the biological control is "purun tikus" (Eleocharis dulcis) as alternative strategy to controlthe white rice steam borerpest. The extract of E. dulcis was effective to attract female insect. The chemical compound as attractant was identified at "Laboratorium Residu Bahan Agrokimia, the Agriculture Environment Research Institute (BALINGTAN) using Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (GCMS). The result showed that purun tikus contain steroid, alkaloid, methyl diena, alkena, and vitamin, side that is found also other fraction like alcohol, carboxylate, alkenon, benzene alkyl, essensial oil, fatty acid, hydrocarbon, azole, aniline, and phenol.
