Abstract
Al 5083 or often called marine aluminum, is a material that only being produced in the form of sheet and plate it’s widely used in ship industrial because it is light, relatively strong as well as having a high resistance of corrosion. Joining process is needed to make a ship counstruction. Welding is a process of joining that is commonly used in ship industrial. The hull bottom is a construction under part of ship that utilize welding for continuation, it’s also the most exposed part in the sea. HAZ of welding is where the corrosion potentialy occur faster than the other zone. Based on corrosion experiment done by SST (salt spray test) for 168 hours, TIG welding with voltage 30 V has the highest corrosion resistance of 0,35 mm/year.
