Isi artikel
With contributions from several authors who have themselves played a crucial role in setting up the field of religion, popular culture and the media, this edited collection promises to be an interesting read. Unlike most edited volumes on the topic, which tend to be limited to case studies and rarely include broader theoretical or methodological reflections, Between Sacred and Profane explicitly sets out to offer ‘a more sustained moment of reflection on the current state of this field’ (p. 2). As such, it is potentially relevant not only to those directly involved in research on religion and popular culture, but also to a broader academic audience, including media and communication scholars.
