Isi artikel
When this book first came my way, my heart sank a little. With my fellow New Zealanders, I live in a post-The Lord of the Rings world and even though many of my peers look back on those times (2001–4) as a golden age, when the world stopped by to admire the global film-making abilities of a small South Pacific nation, my responses have always been mixed. I have never really liked Tolkien’s fantasies of a feudalistic and paternalistic utopia, and the Peter Jackson-directed film trilogy did little to change my mind.
