Isi artikelKathryn Montgomery spent the early part of her career as a professor of film and media at University of California at Los Angeles and as the president of the Center for Media Education. She currently heads the Youth, Media and Democracy project at the American University in Washington, DC. In her first book, Target: Prime Time, she provided readers with a history of advocacy groups’ efforts to positively shape television content. In Generation Digital: Politics, Commerce, and Childhood in the Age of the Internet, she provides an overview of the new screen/digital media culture that is shaping so much of contemporary youth culture.
