Background. Appendicitis is often in Indonesia and being one of the emergency case that has to be managed immediately because of the complication; perforation. Perforate appendix will cause peritonitis and sepsis. One of the important sign of this complication is the higher increment of the body temperature. This sign is potential to differentiate acute appendicitis with perforation appendix, thus the relation of the fever with acute perforation appendicitis and cut off point of the temperature to differ those conditions will be analyzed Goal. The aim of the research is to determine the relation of body temperature increment with the incidence of acute perforation appendicitis Method. Research is held in retrospective and using medical records of the patient who are operated in Atma Jaya Hospital during January 2013-June 2014 by analytic descriptive technique Result. There is medium strength relation between the increment of body temperature with acute perforation appendicitis incident, temperature cut-off point 370C with 78.9% sensitivity and 64.2% specificity, and 6.7 odd ratio value. Conclusion. There is relation of body temperature increment with the incidence of acute perforation appendicitis Suggestion. Prospective technique and measuring the temperature by the researcher will minimize the bias and improve data quality |
