Introduction : Academic or non-academic promblems which faced by medical students could affect them from having stress that could lead to problems at process of study. Purpose : The purpose of this study is to assess the association between stress and eating habits. Methods : Cross-sectional approach was used for this descriptive study. Ocotober to November 2014 at Faculty of Medicine, Atma Jaya University, North Jakarta, 96 students year 2011 are selected using stratified random sampling method. Students were asked to complete Depression Anxiety Stress Scale 42 (DASS 42), determinant factor quistionare, Rosenberg Self-Esteem, SCL-90, FACES III. Results : 51 from 96 students (53,2%) are stressed which 31 students (32,2%) with low stress level, 13 (13,5%) with moderate stress level, and 7 (7,5%) with high stress level. Stress factors which found high among students are female gender, first born child, from etnic Tionghoa, living in dorm/hostel, low self-esteem, positif psychopathology, and curriculum and heavy schedule. Conclusions : Most of students (53,2%) found having stress and (29,2%) with psychopathology. So it is important to do early detection of stress and psychopathology among medical students, evaluate the impact, and do the referrals for the interventions. |
