Abstract
Background: : In Indonesia, primary health care services are still not well organized. It can be perceived from the different perceptions of primary health care between doctors and medical students, resulting in different qualities of primary health care services.Objective of this research is to find out doctor’s and medical student’s perception of primary health care quality in Indonesia and its influencing factors.

Methods: A cross sectional survey was used in this descriptive analytics research. Respondent consist of 48 doctors and 78 medical students who were collecting the questionnaire at seminar on primary care. The questionnaire consisted of characteristics include gender , age , educational level , year of graduation, and expenditures; activities including type (practice or non-practice) and activities related to primary health care; the group of patients treated; as well as the perception of primary health care quality that consists of first contact, continuity, coordination, comprehensive, family-centered and community-oriented .

Results: Univariate analysis indicated that majority of respondents (89,8%) got a good perception at quality of primary health care. More than three quarters of respondents got good grades at first contact, continuity, coordination and comprehensive meanwhile only two-third of respondents got good grades at family-centered and community oriented. Respondents with age above 30, doctors, graduate more than 9 years ago, practice, and majority serve poor people had better perception on primary health care quality.

Suggestion: Faculty of medicine and other health institutions need to make motivation trainings about the necessary of approaching the family and community on primary health care in Indonesia to get better quality.
