Nabire Regency is one of area with malaria endemic in Papua Province. This study was conducted to determine how much community participation in prevention of malaria in Kelurahan Nabarua. This study was a descriptive cross-sectional study, with systemic random sampling method. The number of respondents were 107 from people who live in Kelurahan Nabarua. The results obtained showed that primary prevention most often committed by the respondent were clean the inside of the house (100%), clean the outside of the home (99.1%), wearing a wire ventilation in home construction (98.1%), anti-mosquito spraying aerosols (87.9%), and discard or bury used goods (86.9%) and the rare were wearing a mosquito net while in bed at night (32.7%), applying repellant (27.1%), and maintaining predator of mosquito larvae (23.4%). In the secondary prevention of as many (96.3%) of respondents went to the nearest health facility when experiencing symptoms of malaria, and as many (96.3%) will also check the blood when experiencing symptoms of malaria. In tertiary prevention type of anti-malarial drugs are consumed by the respondent is quinine, primaquin, chloroquine. |
