Background.Futsal is a game of football with a smaller field and smaller number of players. Futsal are using various movements such as kicking , running, walking , past through the opponents that uses hip movement as one of the main motion. Hip movements are flexion , extension, abduction , adduction , internal rotation of the medial , lateral external rotation.Those range of motion is influenced by a person's exercise routine. Objectives. The aim of this research is to determine the difference of hip range of motion at the pre - clinical students who regularly play futsal and those who do not at the Medical Faculty Catholic University of Atma Jaya. Methodology. This experiment study was conducted in February2014 untilSeptember2014using the purposive sampling method.This study was a cross-sectional study and using goniometry as measurement. A total of 40 students in the Medicine Faculty Catholic University of Atma Jaya who adjust the criteria were included as respondent . The result was analyze using chi-square test with 95% confidence level ( a = 0.05 ). Results and Conclusions.Students who regularly play futsal hasgreaterrange of motion than who do not. The difference amount of hip range of motion happens inevery movement of the hips and it happens not only in the male students but also occurs in female students.
