Abstract
The symbol is a picture or shape that represents an idea. Levels of recognizing and matching in the reading of symbols are indispensable. In the creation of symbols, not all desired symbols are created with the perfect escape from errors. The symbol also did not escape from disability. The disability symbols are symbols that do not provide the correct information and nor can the intent captured by the recipient information. The symbol is found in a public place. This research review 2 the required factors in the creation of a symbol that is color and picture symbols. After performing the data collection with the symbol meanings, answer done analysis thoroughly and dummy variables. Results of the analysis of the experimental design stated that the factors which affect the level of recognizing a symbol on the public place is a symbol of the pictures, while the factors that affect the level of matching a symbol on the public place is a factor of the color picture of the symbol itself. Linear regression analysis with dummy variables using are also used. The variable gender correlated positively with change in the dependent variable that is based on the level of recognizing and level matching.
